The Woke Right

Within the right wing sphere of political alignment, an ever growing faction, which I will call “woke right”, has been growing in power. It seemingly is about to become the new paradigm with which the right wing of politics aligns itself. In short time, this new paradigm will likely be the basis of how the right frames its ideals. I do not believe the woke right is the correct or just political cause to stand behind, as ultimately their ideals are anti-liberal, anti-liberty, and anti-individualistic.

What inspired me to write this musing was a recent video by Carl Benjamin, Sargon of Akkad, recently published a video essentially describing what the woke right is, and attempting apologetics for the “woke” part of the woke right (and even arguing that “there is no such thing as woke, because woke is a left wing paradigm”). I’ve already discussed in previous musings that woke is a series of tactics used to achieve political ends, and the left and the right engage in using both ends. However, Benjamin furthers the discussion about woke tactics by confusingly talking down about liberalism, and using the writings of philosophers that were not liberal, to justify anti-liberal thought. Ultimately, Benjamin, for whatever reason, believes that left wing socialist/communist philosophies are somehow liberal, and thus liberalism will inevitably destroy itself by implementing a socialist/communist ideology.

Benjamin is a fucking idiot for thinking this, but he is not the only one who has walked down this idiotic path. A growing faction on the right believe that liberalism will inevitably end in the woke left utopia, and to stop that, a reactionary shift towards some ancient fantasy of a theocratic monarchy should be implemented, and a fantastical myth of how people traditionally lived in the past should be enforced on everyone.

The woke right have now essentially become the woke left; they believe that a specific model of society should be enforced on everyone, anyone who doesn’t hold the same ideals should be violently ejected from society, and ultimately society should own the individual, rather than the individuals live at peace with each other within society.

Political movements seldom last forever, but I’m unsure of how long this movement will last. I hope that it is not long for this world, as the original woke left only lasted from 2008-2022ish.
