The Political Situation Scares Me

The assassination of Charlie Kirk, and the slew of political violence has me troubled at the political stability of the US. I firmly believe that more or less, the shared vision of what reality is has been broken, and probably has been broken for a long time. This breaking of reality is the reason that political violence has began to get out of hand, and has allowed for the excuses of granting the federal government terrifyingly tyrannical powers that is more or less enabling the creation of a police state. It’s clear to me that most people no longer hold ideologies in earnestness or genuineness. The two main ideologies want political power simply so that they can wield it against their political opponents, in order to enforce a certain social will.

People are quick to excuse the evils committed by their own side, and cry out against the evils committed by their opponents. There no longer is any good faith or good will amongst people who disagree; if someone says something, or does something that you disagree with, they did so because they’re trying to destroy you, or your lifestyle. There no longer is any shared trust in authorities, as it is assumed that authorities have been thoroughly infested by their political enemies. Trust has largely been broken.
