Daily Blog Post 2

Another quick recap of the day.

The day began fairly slowly. On my days off from work, I tend to be lethargic, waking up around 8 am and tending to some minor interests such as messing around with my computer or organizing my tools. I didn’t reach the gym until noon, as I had planned to go for an 8 mile run. That plan was quashed by an absolute downpour, which I figured would last until the afternoon. My basement flooded due to the rains.

After conducting bicep day, I drove over to a junkyard, and finally transferred my 1997 Blazer over to the yard. While they have not towed the vehicle away yet, it is no longer mine. I am filled with a deep sense of sadness and sentimentalness. Sure, it’s just a vehicle, but it was the first vehicle I learned how to drive. While it was the first truck I outright owned, it was mine, and I had many great adventures in it. Hopefully someone will find it, and rebuild it to working condition, but I sincerely doubt that.

I also brought my TW200 head to the machine shop. The machinist is going to try to work that dowel pin out of the camshaft for me. I do not expect it to be finished for the next 2 weeks or so, as the machine shop is always backed up.

I also dropped my Chevy Suburban, the Battle Bus, off at an auto shop to have the oil pan and water pump looked at. I believe both are leaking. While I could fix it, I really don’t want to spend hours outside in the pouring rain after work.

All in all, I had a fairly busy day off. As I always do.
