I’m posting the obligatory 2024 review. I’m not going to get too far into the weeds, but I’ll give a wavetops overview of my last year.
Overall, 2024 was a great year for me. It started off a little stressful, as I had been unemployed for 6 months up to that point, and I wouldn’t find employment until early March. I finally trudged through some mental health issues, and finished most of my projects. I completed my Honda Shadow rebuild, I did a whole bunch of projects with the TW200, including installing a light kit, an oil cooler, and all sorts of other general maintenance items. As for my musings, they definitely fell off towards the end, especially when I started my new job in September.
I started a new career that is going to allow me the tools and capital to eventually start my homesteading dream. I’m not at liberty to say what I do, but needless to say I enjoy what I do. I currently (unfortunately) reside on the east coast of the US. I’d rather live out west, where I’m originally from. However, short term sacrifices must be made for the long term goals.
My goals for this year are to save up enough money for a down payment for a potential plot of land, and to begin looking at potential homesteading spots. I’m looking in Oregon, Idaho, Utah, and Wyoming. I think the first goal is doable, as I’m a single male with no dependents, or debt. I also have little overhead costs for living. An ancillary goal is to update this space more often, and possibly even add a comments section.
Cheers 2024, and thanks to all of my family, friends, and acquaintances for being in my life.
